Bochumer Verein Verkehrstechnik (BVV) GmbH
Bochumer Verein Verkehrstechnik (BVV) has been one of the leading manufacturers of wheels, wheelsets and shafts since the beginning of the railroad era. Founded in 1842 as Gußstahlfabrik Mayer & Kühne, the traditional company was a pioneer in steel processing and a beacon of the young railroad industry. At the 1855 World Exhibition in Paris, Jacob Mayer was honored with the gold medal for his revolutionary steel mould casting process. This innovative tradition has shaped BVV to the present day.
Cutting edge products from Bochum, Ilsenburg and Brand-Erbisdorf define the state of the art in wheels, wheelsets and shafts on all continents. For example, the new rubber-sprung hybrid lightweight wheels for local transport and the voltage-homogenized HighSpeed-Wheel 265 for low-noise passenger transport are rightly regarded as milestones in development that secure decisive competitive advantages for our customers.
Through its collaboration with Full Hill Enterprises, BVV realigned itself in 2017 and consolidated its position as a respected global player. With the new shareholder, one of the largest railroad technology providers in China, we will further expand our leading market position in the high-speed, locomotive, freight and mass transit segments and drive development with new concepts and materials.
BVV has been a strong and reliable partner to the rail industry for over 180 years. It will remain so in the future. For the benefit of customers worldwide.
