ISATEC GmbH is an independent engineering service provider with development and system expertise from the component to the complete product. Its core competencies include the design and optimization of devices and machines, strength analyses and system engineering. ISATEC has many years of experience in the field of FE calculation in the areas of statics, dynamics, vibration analysis including non-linearities as well as flow simulation and thermodynamics.

ISATEC has extensive expertise in the design and calculation of rail vehicles and in lightweight construction: for years, our company has been developing, calculating and designing modular drive units (PowerPacks) for use in rail vehicles. We also develop vehicle modules and complete work and maintenance vehicles for various well-known rail vehicle manufacturers. 

In addition to the design and calculation of structural components, ISATEC has extensive expertise in the field of alternative drive technology. Our portfolio includes the definition of system requirements, the dimensioning of H2 pressure tanks and the design of tank, fuel cell and battery modules for mobile and stationary applications. Systems are manufactured to customer specifications with renowned partners.

In the FlexSbus-LR project, ISATEC GmbH is responsible for the design and strength calculation of all structural components. The focus is on different aspects for each vehicle module. In the design of the chassis, demanding safety requirements are combined with a space-optimized design to accommodate all functionally relevant units. A flexible and multifunctional mobility platform was developed through the development of quickly separable interfaces.

In the passenger cell, lightweight construction approaches and joining techniques from the bus sector were transferred to rail. This made it possible to create a lightweight, ergonomic and visually appealing passenger compartment that also meets the high safety requirements of a mainline railroad.

The development of the innovative and patented single-axle chassis in collaboration with the Institute for Rail Vehicles and Transport Systems (IFS) at RWTH Aachen University reflects ISATEC GmbH's many years of experience in the field of rail vehicle technology. Thanks to the close cooperation between design and strength calculation under one roof, a structurally optimized and production-compatible welded design in accordance with DIN EN 15085 was implemented in a very short time.

The packaging of the components provided by the project partners, comprehensive interface management and the creation of the complete production and assembly documentation round off ISATEC GmbH's contribution to the project.
